LOWELL -- Dr. Seuss Day was a huge success at Lowell Catholic. Dan Price, the associate principal of elementary education, dressed as Thing 1, and Brittany Conley, elementary guidance counselor dressed as the Cat in the Hat, and they visited elementary classrooms for Read Across America Day, handing out reading-inspired treats.

LC will hold its annual Scholastic Book Fair event the week of March 25-29 in the library.

Students in grades 4-8 are also participating in the national Read Across America essay contest. LC will award prizes, including a Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble gift card and Scholastic gift certificates, for the best and most creative submissions.

Lowell Catholic will also host Bingo For Books, a fun night of pizza and bingo, Sunday, March 24. Contact the elementary main office for details.

LC is accepting applications for next fall. Students who will be 3 by Sept. 1 are eligible for the new Early Education Preschool Program. LC will also offer year-round preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, as well as extended-day options beginning in September.
